Portland Oregon Senior Housing and care has many choices. There are issues of independence, safety, compatibility, comfort, cost, location and quality of life. All of which are important. Choosing the right Senior Housing is not an easy task. We have visited and pre-screened hundreds of homes and facilities and with the advantage of our many years of experience we know where quality appropriate facilities are located that can meet YOUR needs and preferences.
We promise prompt assistance, information and advice on what type of facility will work best for you while considering the uniqueness of your family member. Some places will meet your needs much better than others. Some specialize. Only some have openings. We exist to help you know the difference and solve your needs promptly at no cost to you. Note: EZ Transitions advocates ONLY on your behalf and we promote a home or facility based solely on its demonstrated ability to provide quality care and to serve your special needs.
ADULT CARE HOMES in the Portland metro-area are limited to five elderly residents (6 in Clark Co.) plus the caregiver and their family. Quality supervision 24/7 with private bedrooms, often with their own bath or ½ bath. Everyone eats together as family and socializes as they wish. Great supervision. Often called Adult Care Homes or Adult Family Homes. The area has a considerable number of very experienced caregivers in wonderful, home-like environments!
ASSISTED LIVING in the Portland metro area is apartment style living with care assistance as needed. It’s sort of like a hotel with hands-on care. Meals are served in the dining area. Activities and transportation are available. This style of living promotes privacy, dignity and independence. Portland has some very nice ones!
DEMENTIA CARE in the Portland metro area OFTEN requires specialized facilities and staff as needs increase, BUT there’s a big difference depending on your needs. Private or often large double-occupied rooms which assist the resident to recognize a familiar face and to help keep the cost of care down as progressing dementia requires considerably higher staffing ratios. We have some great places!
NOTE: All of the above provide help and assistance with ADL’s (Activities of Daily Living) such as: Grooming, Bathing, Medication, Ambulation, Toileting, Dressing etc. A few allow pets and smoking in designated areas. Some specialize in strokes, Diabetes, Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s disease and dementia, Traumatic Brain Injury, ventilators, Rehab, Hospice plus all the other difficulties that come with old age.
This is not rocket science, but it should be a thoughtful, caring approach. There are many ways our service will benefit you.
After all these years, we have many heart-warming experiences to share. We also know from experience that everyone is unique, but similar in many ways. We’re happy to share all this with you concerning your own needs and situation. We want to earn a reference from you.
Often you just need to know where to go. It is always our pleasure if we can help you find what you need. Ask and we will see what we can do.
